Pay the rent appeal wrap up

Thanks to everyone who took part in our first ever appeal, we didn’t make our target, but there’s no shame in aiming high and bearing in mind the resources we had available to invest into running the appeal, the final result of members and donations was actually fairly good when compared to our sectors average.

During the process of the appeal we learnt a lot as individuals and as an organisation and got to know many of you better too.

However, due to falling significantly short of our target this does mean that we are at somewhat of a reduced capacity over the next six months as in order to afford running the organisation and our own living costs we will both need to take on part time work. We will endeavour to run as many programs and workshops as possible, but sadly we don’t have the resources to be able to undertake everything we would like to and everything you would like us to, generally we are restricted to programs and projects that are specifically funded.

Negatives aside we have many more fundraising ideas for the future and we are still receiving a lot of positive feedback from individuals, business and government, so we’re far from finished yet and have many, many more innovative tricks up our sleeves to ensure that renters are not ignored in the sustainability movement.
