Wanting to do some volunteer work? Want to help engage renters about what they can do to make their homes more sustainable? We have a couple of big events coming up where we need your help:
Sustainable LIving Festival
The Sustainable Living Festival is Australia's biggest sustainability festival attracting over 100,000 people. We'll be having a stall as part of the Green Market, showcasing over 100 exhibitors over 3 days at Federation Square and Birrarung Marr.
Our stall will involve a table and space where people can:
- Come and find out more about Green Renters, sign up to the mailing list, become a member, find out about workshops etc
- Fill in the annual Green Renters survey
- Buy Green Renters products (all proceeds fund our work)
- Get a bag/t shirt or other article of clothing stencilled by our stencil artist Lachlan for gold coin donation
During the SLF we'll also be launching our life sized board games, based on themes of sustainability and rental accommodation, Rentopoly and Sneaks and Ladders. We'll need people to supervise the playing of these games at various times.

12pm to 8pm
Saturday 18th Feb
10am to 6pm
Sunday 19th Feb
10am to 5pm
2012 Sydney Road Street Party
The Sydney Road street party is held on Sunday 4 March from 12 noon - 7pm
Sydney Road – Union to Victoria Streets, Brunswick. We'll be holding a stall and will need people to help out with similar tasks to the SLF (not sure if we'll bring the game along, will probably see how it goes at the SLF).
We prefer volunteers to do 3 hour shifts if at all possible, All volunteers will be fully briefed and get plenty of assistance if needed. In return for your time you'll get a personal reference for your work for employers, uni applications etc, and we'll be hosting a thank you bbq in Brunswick (if people are interested of course!). We can also reimburse you for any public transport costs from travelling to and from the event.
You'll also get our sincere thanks for your effort in bring sustainability and the needs of renters to the masses!
