Hey C + C, to save energy/money in winter time I like to read under mood lighting (ie. one energy saving lamp) with lots of rugs and my dressing gown on over my clothes to keep warm. It’s comfy, relaxing and energy efficient. Also, a door sausage is good to stop draughts coming in under my door.

PS I have no preference as to which book I might like to win.

i buy 120l storage tubs with wheels from bunning to store water in for the garden ($30 each, cheaper than water tanks and no need for pump). i collect it from broken/unconnected downpipes from the house. i put in cheap plastic taps to attach a hose to and i can move them around the backyard. And the tubs are stackable so that’s enough head for the water to get out once full (hence no pump).

I have discovered that with a heat pack and my doona, I don’t actually need to warm my bedroom inwinter. So I leave the bedroom door closed all night, and just heat the living space while I’m out there. THen climb quickly into bed and enjoy snuggling in!
I’d love the slow guide to Sydney.
